Cybersecurity Cost Calculator

Small Business Cybersecurity Cost Calculator

Build a transparent annual subscription scenario from dated public list prices. This calculator does not start with an arbitrary company-size budget range. It shows the arithmetic behind each included component so you can see what you may already be paying for and what would be incremental.

What This Calculator Does Differently

The previous CyberCostLab calculator used broad employee-count bands and multipliers. This version replaces that approach with component-level arithmetic. Every price used in the calculation is documented in the CyberCostLab Small Business Cybersecurity Cost Model 2026, and the result separates the productivity-suite baseline from separately added security components.

Why Existing Licenses Matter

Buying security twice is not a better security strategy. Some business suites already include endpoint protection, identity, device-management, email-security or retention capabilities. The calculator therefore prevents one obvious double count: if Microsoft 365 Business Premium is selected, standalone Defender for Business is not added again. Feature suitability and configuration still need to be evaluated separately.

What Is Not Included

This version intentionally does not invent universal prices for managed service providers, MDR, security-awareness training, cyber insurance, compliance consulting, incident-response retainers, internal staff time or unusual infrastructure. Those costs can be material, but they vary enough that they should be supported by an explicit quote or a defensible benchmark rather than hidden inside a multiplier.

Methodology and Sources

Important Limitations

This calculator is an educational planning tool, not a vendor quote, procurement recommendation or market-average survey. Public prices and product features can change. Validate current vendor pricing, required features, device counts and service needs before making a purchasing decision.
